The Conservative Bulwark

Well you gotta hand it to the President-Elect...he wastes no time whatsoever in pissing off millions of people.

Think for a second. What one person do conservatives idolize more than any other? That would be Ronald Reagan. Uncle Ronnie. Ronaldus Maximus.

So what does Obama do? In his very first news conference after his big night, he answers a question from a reporter by taking a crude shot at Nancy Reagan. The question was "have you talked with any living Presidents recently". His response was yes he had talked with all of the living Presidents (insert laughter from reporters here), he hadn't talked with any dead ones. He hadn't pulled a "Nancy Reagan" and performed any seances.

His joke fell flat on its face. Perhaps it would have been funnier if he had actually referenced the First Lady who had claimed to use seances and channel former First Ladies...and that would be Hillary Clinton. Nancy Reagan has never claimed such a thing or even referenced it.

So the great uniter, on his first gig as a newly elected President, manages to infuriate and galvanize the entire conservative base. You'd think he was a Republican or something.
