The dreaded "Clone Wars" follow up...

Well where do I start?
Was it the worst movie ever made? No.
Was it worthy of the 'Star Wars' title? Pre-1999: Hell no. Post-1999: Yeah, it fits in nicely with that tripe.
I've come to the conclusion that George Lucas cares nothing about anyone over the age of 12. 'The Phantom Menace', 'Attack of the Clones', 'Revenge of the Sith', and now 'The Clone Wars' are aimed at the children of the people that created, nourished, and grew the 'Star Wars' phenomenon.
The 'Clone Wars', like its immediate predecessors, is a technological wonder with bad writing, horrible plot points, and zero imagination. There are so many irregularities in this movie that its almost a waste of time to try and point them out here. Again, like the prequels, it seems that Lucas and Co. were intent on offering up gimmicky, flashy faux substance over the deeper, philosophical tales that 30 year old fans loved and remembered from the original trilogy.
This movie is supposed to be a build up to the animated TV series dubuting some time in the future. I can only imagine what Lucas has in store for us. There's also going to be a live-action TV show. Again, it'll be interesting to see just how far Lucas goes to alienate his oldest fan base.
Look, I don't begrudge Lucas his billions. If he wants to brush off an older audience and target kids with cartoony fluff pieces, than more power to him. Yeah, I'm pissed about it, but I'll get over it. I'm not one of those that thinks that Lucas "owes" me anything. And I'm certainly not going to pull a "Moriarty"...meaning I'm not going to act like an 8 year old and pretend that by never writing about 'Star Wars' again, its going to somehow harm or "show up" Lucas in anyway. What I am going to do, however, is hope and pray that sometime after the end of Lucas' long and glorious life, someone with a brain will get their hands on the rights to redo the damage that Lucas has done to his moneymaker.
We can only hope...
